Project Timeline:
4 Months [Study Abroad]
Overview:
The Urban Tea Center takes a contemporary twist on museum methods and learning experiences. The building cultivates a continuous learning experience with a in motion conveyor belt which leads the user through the buildings programs. Through this process, the user not only grasps the concepts of tea production, but will observe it first hand.
Design Highlights
These diagrams help to visualize the main components of the building. The main staircase and exit stairs. The conveyor belt which flows through the entire building. Finally, the structural system which is a steel and concrete construction
Museum Entrance
The entrance brings the user into a multistory space right of the main road. As seen in the render, the conveyor belt on the ceiling is carrying the guests tea to the gift shop. An escalator invites the user to the first floor of the museum.
Museum Floors
Each floor has a specific program incorporated in the tea creation process. This allows the user to learn a new step of the process via each floor.
